I just love street art – Specially the ones with a social impact, the ones which make a bold statement!
Check out Mear One (contemporary American artist) – One of my favourites most recently. (Images Below)

What makes street art really powerful is that you never know when your about to come across it – It has the power of hitting you without any significant warning. Making you feel uncomfortable, maybe not because you disagree with the statement it makes but you shut your eyes and chose to ignore that particular statement –
Don’t worry- it happens to me sometimes – walking by a magnificent piece of artwork and adoring every bit of it, loving the message it’s sending across – and then WOW! – maybe something needs to be done, I dont know –
All to one side I think all street art is GOLD! It communicates with you wether you like it or not and it doesn’t care from what social background you come from or what language you speak (coz it speaks in every language) – it’s just there sayin ”Yo, you – yes you – check me out – I am so coooolly done”!

A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO PLASTIC!… (SRC JEANNIE)
These wooden LEGOs by Japanese design studio Mokurukkuare a wonderful alternative to the normal bright plastic pieces– there’s something really textural and tactile about wood that can’t be achieved with the shine of plastic manufacturing.
Another fantastic video by Juan Rayos and the Longboard Girls – Endless Roads is a film about freedom. You might ask whats so special about a road trip around Spain and what makes it ‘freedom’ like but when I watched this documentary style film I felt inspired, influenced and kind of jealous by the shooting, music and even the movement whilst skating… its totally ‘dream like’ and I think thats what it is! It transferes the freedom feeling across to the viewer – Love it.
Check out his vimeo page for the rest of the parts and for more cool stuff!

All the updates and regular changes to Facebook, have annoyed quite a lot of users in the past and caused a hassle within the Fb community. Although I was simply never ’emotionally effected’ by any of the updates (considering that I do classify myself as a regular user of Fb), I think its the simple fact that people are afraid of ‘change’!! afraid but yet accept it!
– the truth is in time ‘change’ takes over and complaints fade away!
Anyway I’m going to get straight to the point. Most of you are probably aware of what’s around the corner for Fb users and already some have accepted it: Ladies and Gents I present to you, The Timeline:
What do I think of it? At the moment I’m trying it out and I quite like the layout of the page header but not a praticular fan of the columns. Anyway all this doesn’t matter because Fb will force this change/update on to its users very very soon (in a weeks time)
With everything said, I think that slowly Fb designers might be moving towards enabling user customization within the layout and design aspects of the page….who knows, maybe!
Here is a link for further reading on the Timeline: click me
p.s I’m liking the update for the iphone app…
Yeah yeah, I know it’s late…. after all those years of holding back and keeping away and refusal, I have finally signed up for a twitter account: dcreativek
I will give a 1 month trail period before I call my self ‘a twitter’. If I settle in 1 month I will stay if not farewell little birdy.
